Airport Training Programs
APTech has developed and conducted
targeted training programs specifically for airport personnel.
For example, a 2-day seminar on airfield pavement maintenance and rehabilitation
was designed for airport representatives, consultants, and Federal Aviation
Administration officials to improve the participants' understanding of proper
airfield pavement maintenance and rehabilitation techniques.
APTech also teaches a 1-day seminar on portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement
rehabilitation that specifically benefits airport inspectors, managers and field
crews. This course targets participants with a broad range of backgrounds and
capabilities, and includes specialized sessions on different repair techniques.
APTech's interactive Airfield Pavement Condition Index (PCI) training course
provides guidance on the conduct of this survey procedure developed by the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers. The course materials include an introduction to PCI,
network definition, sampling rates and pavement distress identification in an
easy-to-use format, all on one self-contained interactive CD-ROM. The program
features high quality color photographs of concrete and asphalt distress types,
comprehensive coverage of PCI survey techniques, visual comparisons of distress
types and severities, and an explanation of how to determine sampling rates.
APTech also routinely conducts classes on the MicroPAVER software program, the
use of multi-year prioritization in pavement management, preventive maintenance
techniques, and pavement rehabilitation design.
